The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).
Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in
the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

Dave fished his usual method the pole and caster landing an impressive net of Ide – 1lb, loose feeding nearly 2 pint of casters to keep in touch with the fish he finished with 20lb to spare over 2nd placed Fred who had 34lb 10 oz of carp – 5lb on popped up bread.

Nick named 136 peg because of the amount of 100lb weights that come of it, and Kristian didn’t let peg 36 down, starting of on the pellet method feeder and pellet hookbait cast tight to the island and late in the match he fished the pole and worm over groundbait down the margin for 30 carp – 8lb finishing with a total of 108lb 11oz. Just missing out on a ton weight Ian at peg 27 fished the pellet wagler up in the water with pellet cast to the lily pads landing carp – 5lb steady all match.

The gale force wind and heavy rain tried its best to spoil the day but with two ton weights, 53lb 9oz was the lowest weight with only one angler failing to weigh in it was one of the best matches this year.
If theirs a peg on form you can expect Andy Lakey to draw it, drawn at peg 14 he fished the method feeder and pellet cast to the island and corn over groundbait down the margin landing 22 carp – 8lb weighing in 109lb 12oz he made an extra £100 for being on the golden peg.
2nd placed Kristian drew sheltered peg 56 in the bottom corner fishing the pellet method feeder and pellet cast to the lily pad and the pole and worm down the margin he had carp – 9lb in his catch of 105lb 2oz

This was the last of the Sunday evening matches, the next Sunday open will be on the 2nd of October. 1st time at the fishery and taking top spot Graham drew peg 25 and fished the pole and paste landing carp – 5lb with the exception of one 15lb specimen making him a total of 90lb 10oz 2nd place went to fishery regular Neil Wilkinson fishing the pole and pellet at peg 19 he landed 15 carp – 5lb.

Dave dominated the match drawn on peg 40 he alternated between the meat and corn fished out and down the margin landing 10 carp between 6 and 8lb and lots of smaller ones – 2lb for a ton return of 100lb 5oz.

Pete was the only angler to break the ton and he did it in style with 151lb 1oz fishing the pole and meat out at 12m he landed over 40 carp – 8lb, arriving late for the draw and not ready at the start he set up just two rigs one for out and one for the margin, fishing out he 12 small carp -4lb in the first 2 hours then he had his only 2 fish from the margin and in the last 2 hours he landed the bigger fish, feeding with the pole cup and over the top with the catty if he didn’t get a bite, 2nd was Steve Keyworth struggling for the 1st 2 hours then a change to corn from pellet brought him a string of carp -9lb for a total of 97lb 4oz.

Lee drew what is considered to be the best day time peg at the fishery, peg 20 in the shallow bay, casting a small pellet feeder into the corner with meat and pellet hookbait he landed 26 carp – 7lb just finishing just short of the ton but 5lb in front of 2nd place. Pete drew peg 53 not a flyer but he turned it into one, fishing the pole and his favorite red meat he landed 32 carp – 7lb.

Lee fished the pole and caster for 36lb of skimmers and Ide – 1lb and changed to his baited margin swim late in the match for 7 carp his biggest being a 15lb 7oz ghostie on the pole and corn, making it 2 wins in two days. 2nd placed Dave also fished the pole and caster out and corn down the margin having 30lb of Ide and the rest of his net made up of carp – 3lb.

Alternating between the scoop feeder and pellet cast to the island and the pole and meat fished out at 11m and down the margin Daz kept the fish coming to the net landing carp – 7lb steady all match at peg 21, at the next peg fishery owner Mick Langton had a bad middle of the match loosing 10 carp in a row, fishing the pole and meat out and the method feeder and meat cast to the island he landed carp – 9lb.
