The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).

 

Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.
hoping for an even better year, I predict the match record to go on the Sherwood and Langdale and close on the Holmedale

 

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

 

The cafe will be open every Sat/Sun From Sping untill the end of October from 7.30 am till 1pm

Tuesday 14/2/12

 Fishing through holes in the ice the anglers were pegged all round the lake. Dave alternated between the pole fished with caster and maggot at field side peg 14 landing 6lb 3oz of small roach, skimmers and perch.

Back to back wins for Dave Round drawn on Holmedale peg 6 fishing the pole with caster and maggot for roach and perch – 6oz with not a carp in sight all the weights were made up of roach and perch.

Different day but the same angler at the top of the list, Dave fished his usual pole with caster and maggots on two lines landing 12lb 2oz of small roach and skimmers

Holmedale lake

With the wind being so strong we decided to have a rover, Pete Ellis choosing peg 20 in the sheltered shallow bay, a peg we only normally use in the warmer months fishing the pole out at 11m with corn and pellet he landed over 20 carp – 8lb for a massive total of 92lb 3oz. 2nd place with a big weight of 63lb 12oz Pete Hodgetts had 21 carp – 7lb on the short pole with pellet and meat.
