The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).
Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in
the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

Dave finished well in front of the of the rest landing over 20lb of skimmers and Ide on the pole and caster and 4 carp – 6lb caught on the pole and corn fished down the margin late in the match, weighing a total of 41lb 15oz.

Not massive weights but a very tight competition, just topping the list with 49lb 10oz fishery regular John Darby fished the pole and meat out at 10m for 12 carp – 9lb, catching 8 carp in the first hour and the rest in the last hour, One fish adrift in 2nd place Andy Lakey fished the pole and pellet at 7m for 20 small carp – 4lb

A very tight finish between the top three Carl fished the pole long at 16m with meat and pellet hookbait over micro pellets he landed 11 carp – 10lb and finishing with 69lb 14oz. In second place Geoff fished the pole and maggot up in the water on the bore hole peg 31 landing a level 67lb of carp – 3lb. 3rd placed Andy lost a 8lb carp on the final whistle that would have won him the match together with his 64lb 7oz net of carp on the pole and pellet.

Drawn on the bore hole peg 31 Phil fished the pole and pellet out at 16m catching carp – 6lb from the very first put in to the last, weighing in a massive 103lb 3oz and pocketing £112 for his troubles. 2nd placed John Turton had to wait to the last hour before having a fish landing 16 carp on the pole fished at 14m on the pellet.

Ian was the only angler to connect with any carp landing 8 – 4lb on the pellet feeder and pellet cast to the weed beds at peg 40 adding 9lb of silvers to his carp weight he finished with 37lb 15oz. 2nd place went to Dave Hiley fishing the pole and caster he landed a mixed net of roach, ide and skimmers for 21lb 14oz.

Roy fished a small pellet feeder and pellet on the hook cast to the lily pads at peg 32 hooking 15 carp but only landing 9 – 8lb but finishing in top spot with 44lb 2oz. Second place went to Pete Hodgetts thanks to a 12lb carp caught on the feeder and pellet cast to the island plus 5 others, on this very windy day.

Dave fished the pole and caster all match at 5m because of the strong winds to land skimmers and ide – 12oz.

Andy drew the bore hole peg 31 fishing the pole and maggot up in the water and on the deck he landed carp - 6lb and loosing has many weighing in a creditable 66lb 14oz to take his first win at the fishery, Second placed Andy Lakey caught carp – 2lb steady all match on ledgered meat cast to the island a change to the pole and pellet in the last hour brought him 3 bonus carp – 7lb.
