The ‘Browning Youth Masters’ is UK’s largest national

below lists 40 venues across England, Scotland, Wales
& Northern Ireland where you can participate in a
qualifier. If you are successful you will be invited to
attend the 100 peg final at Cudmore fisheries on
Saturday 30th August 2008.

The winner this year will become a ‘Browning Sponsored
Angler’ for one year, who will also receive tackle to the
value of £1’500. There will also be prizes at the qualifier
and final stages of the competition, with a total prize
fund in excess of £5’000.
Ticket costs are £12 per qualifier, and this needs
to be paid direct to the fishery. To compete in this

competition you need to be 17 or under on the date of
the final, and you will need to provide proof of your age
if you are successful in reaching the final.
The next step is to telephone your nearest venue and

After 14 years at Sherwood Forest Fishery I thought it was going to be our last, the heavens opened and it didn't stop raining for over 12 hours, 4 inches of water fell in that period and all the  lakes rose over two foot, worst hit was the Sherwood lake it was just spilling over into the Maunside and the rain stopped, a net was put across the dam wall to stop the fish changing lakes and with the installation of three pumps over 2,000000 gallons of water were pumped into the river saving the fishery from devastation.
We closed the lakes for 2 days, we had to repair the road leading to the fishery and make sure all the fishing platforms' were safe and repositioned were necessary and free from mud.
This took a lot of hard work and I would like to thank all the anglers and friends that came down and help out, without them I don't know what we would have done, all in all we have been very lucky this is the worst its been since we set up the fishery in 1994, but all the hard work paid off with some fantastic club results this weekend.
Saturday Hoyland AC fished the Maunside 51lb won the match 39lb 1oz was 2nd and 32lb 5oz 3rd there was 5 other weights over 20lb and everyone else weighed in over 10lb. Bradgate AC fished the Holmedale 88lb was needed to win that.
On Sunday Sam Slater won the Home Brewery match on Maunside peg 9 with 63lb 11oz of chub and carp on pole and caster his dad was 2nd with 52lb 14oz from peg 3, Brothers Wayne and Tim Truman were 1st and 2nd on the Langdale on the Parkside match with Tim coming out top with 47lb 5oz of chub and carp on pole and worm at peg 1, Wayne had 36lb 3oz from peg 5. Mel Morris won Bachelors ac match on the Holmedale with 78lb 1oz of carp fishing pole and meat on the bore hole peg 3, John Eaves was 2nd with a respectable 60lb 11oz on short pole and corn at peg 20.
