The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).
Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in
the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

2nd Andy Lakey Worksop peg 21, 114lb 10oz
3rd Geoff Mawby Gateford Angling Supplies peg 39, 109lb 2oz
Because of the very strong wind Pete fished most of the day on the pole and pellet fished on the top two + one and later tight down the margins landing carp – 10lb.
Andy fished the pole down the margin with worm over g/bait also landing carp – 10lb.
And in 3rd place landing the final ton of the day Geoff fished the pole short and down the margins for lots of carp – 6lb.

1st Ben Holmes Fox Trentman & Pete Hodgetts Mansfield Angling both 107lb 6oz
3rd Matt Malia Wickersley Angling peg 32, 71lb 10oz
Nothing to separate the top two Ben drawn at peg 17 fished the pole and pellet out at 12m landing carp – 5lb steady all match. Pete at peg 42 fished the pole and meat short at 6m landing bigger carp – 7lb in the second half of the match.

Mick drew hot peg 40 and fished the method feeder and meat cast to weed beds for 8 carp – 10lb + 10lb of skimmers on the pole and corn for a total of 58lb 7oz.

A very cold start to the match and the water temp down to just 6 degrees C it was a struggle for the first half of the match. In top spot Carl Brown fished the pole and pellet out a 11 + 14m at peg 27 landing 18 carp – 6lb all caught in the last 2 hours. 2nd place went to Worksop’s Andy Lakey drawn at 24 he fished the pole pellet and worm also landing 18 carp – 6lb.

This turn out to be a cracking match all anglers using the scales and 52lb 7oz was the lowest section winning weight.
Andy Lakey is doing nothing wrong at the moment drawing peg 24 he was into fish from the off on the pole and pellet fished out on two lines at 13m landing 21 carp – 8lb in his 109lb 6oz net. 2nd placed Ben must have had over 60 carp in the net catching on the pole and pellet he landed stockie carp – 3lb.

Peg 40 is the peg to draw at the moment, this time it was the turn of fishery bailiff John Wooff to draw it, fishing the pole and maggot for 10lb of skimmers and roach and late in the match he fished the pole and corn down the margin for 9 carp – 6lb.
2nd place went to specimen hunter Mick Lysaght fishing the pole and corn down the margin he landed two identical carp at 15lb 8oz each topped up by one other 3lber.

Another very cold start to the match but it didn’t seem to bother the carp Andy drew the bore hole peg 31 fishing with the pole and pellet up in the water and on the deck he landed 34 carp – 10lb for a grand total of 115lb 6oz.
In second place Nigel was coursing the loss of two double figure carp late in the match that he says would have won him the match, fishing the pole out with pellet and down the margin with corn he managed to land carp – 12lb in his net of 94lb 2oz.
