The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).
Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in
the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

Lee is making this lake his own winning the last 3 matches drawn at peg 41 he fished the pole and caster out at 9m for 25lb of Ide- 1lb and the rest of his weight was made up of carp – 6lb on the pole and corn fished 14m down the margin

Because of the strong wind Lee opted to fish the pole and corn down both margins over ground bait, the method paid off he landed 18 carp – 11lb for a total of 97lb 1oz. 2nd placed tackle dealer Geoff Mawby fished the pellet feeder and pellet cast to the island and late in the match worm over ground bait down the margin landing 20 carp – 10lb.

Because of the strong wind John fished the pole short at 5m with meat over pellet at peg 39 catching all match he landed carp – 10lb and landing the only ton of the match with a level 118lb. 2nd placed Roy fished the pole and corn out at 7m and down both margins for carp – 7lb just heading off the tight completion with 84lb 7oz.

Gary fished the pellet waggler and 8mm pellet cast tight to the aerator at peg 51 feeding 3 pellets every cast he landed carp – 10lb.
