The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).
Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in
the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.

an even better year, I predict the match record to go on the Sherwood and Langdale
and close on the Holmedale
The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend
The cafe will be open every Sat/Sun From Sping untill the end of October from 7.30 am till 1pm

Dave finished at the top of the list again fishing his favored pole and caster at 13m landing Ide & roach – 12oz . Nothing to separate the next two Fred and Ian both landing caster nets of roach – 12oz for a total of 10lb 1oz.

The start of the match was delayed to clear the ice again and with the cold and frosty conditions the weights plummeted. Drawn at peg 8 on the sunny side Lee fished the pole and caster for roach and perch – 12oz and with a bonus 4lb carp he finished in front of Geoff Mawby also fishing the pole and caster for roach and perch at end peg 51.

A very cold and wet day but a few carp did show, Pete Hodgetts fished the waggler and maggot for the roach but ended up catching carp instead, loosing 6 on light gear but managing to land 11 others – 7lb finishing with a respectable winter weight of 40lb 2oz. 2nd placed Pete Ellis fished the pole and corn having a bite every put in for the first 2 hours then nothing, he landed 12 carp – 5lb for exactly 34lb.
