The official carp record is 19 lb 3oz Caught From Sherwood Lake,by Mick Lysaght ,but we know that bigger fish have been caught so if you do get a bigger one phone the bailiff for official weighing (the number is on your day ticket).

 

Our stock ponds were emptied this spring, we put Ide into the Sherwood lake and in the Langdale, Chub in the Maunside, Carp in the Holmedale and Maunside.
hoping for an even better year, I predict the match record to go on the Sherwood and Langdale and close on the Holmedale

 

The lakes can also be booked by fishing clubs so please check availability before traveling. this is mostly at the weekend

 

The cafe will be open every Sat/Sun From Sping untill the end of October from 7.30 am till 1pm

 A very cold day but a very close match, fishing his first match on this lake Matt drew on the bore hole peg 31 fishing the long pole on the deck and up in the water with corn he landed 24 carp – 4lb and loosing the same amount finishing with a total of 41lb exactly. 2nd place Steve fished the pole and 4mm pellet at peg 5 landing carp – 6lb and finishing just sort of winning with 40lb 6oz

Don fished the pole and maggot at 13m at peg 42 and after a slow start he started catching small roach and skimmers his biggest fish going just a pound making a total of 22lb 15oz. 2nd placed Mark Fox fished the pole and caster at peg 47 landing Roach and Ide – 12oz.

Fishing an excellent match Steve alternated between the pole fished at 14m with  pellet and the pellet feeder cast to the old lily pads with pellet and corn landing 26 carp – 9lb weighing in the first ton weight of the year 102lb 5oz. 2nd placed Dave Sewell fished the pole and pellet at peg 32 catching over 30 carp – 5lb.

A different match but still the same outcome, Phil Carline at the top of the list, fishing his usual pole and pellet at 14m, at peg 13 he caught carp – 3lb all match finishing with 55lb 12oz 2nd placed Craig Brazier also fished the pole and pellet a foot off the bottom landing carp – 4lb he returned a weight of 46lb 5oz.

 Andy Lakey drew peg 17 for the 2nd week in a row fishing the pole and pellet out at 13m and late in the match down the margin he landed carp from 8oz – 8lb in his winning weight of 75lb 10oz. 2nd placed Pete Ellis fished the pole and pellet short at 6m on peg 39 after a slow start he landed 15  carp – 7lb.
